From before the election, it's already clear that he would cut all aids to Ukraine. Those who mentioned this possibility back in 2023 were ridiculed because people thought there was no way Trump would be re-elected. I'm more surprised it took this long.

Right from day 1 of his office, it was also clear that the his foreign policy vision involves rapprochement with Russia to disentangle them from the PRC and exerting maximum pressure on China in Asia. That means reducing Europe and the Middle East into a secondary theatre. 

In the end, if Ukraine wins, most of the economic benefits will go to Europe, especially if Ukraine joins the EU. The Europeans should have stepped up a long time ago to secure their own backyard.

Random Norwegian here. I foresaw this in November when the chubby pumpkin won the election. We have been having a lot of issues with our BankID (online identification), online banking, emergency phone numbers (like 911 in the US), railroad signals and electricity.

Still we are planning offshore wind farms with a thin umbilical to land while ruzzian ships have been mapping the coastline up and down the last few years.
